painting at a time.

Of Nature and Art is a collection of paintings of the living world: botanicals, birds and animals, gardens, land and water. It was started by Sara Lai, a painter working in Singapore, and it stays small enough to be chosen a painting at a time rather than assembled from open uploads. Her own work is at saralai.art.

What we sell

Two things. Archival giclée prints of paintings, and original paintings as they are listed. Most of the collection runs from the great nature painters — Liljefors, Thorburn and their contemporaries — whose work is in the public domain. Living artists sit beside them, and their prints are sold under agreement with them.

How it works

Nothing is held in stock. When you order a print it is made for you at a fine-art lab in the US, UK, EU or Australia, whichever is nearest, on Hahnemühle German Etching, 310 gsm velvet matte.

Sizes are fitted to each painting rather than cropped to a standard menu, so panoramas stay panoramic and squares stay square. Shipping is included in the price, and prints usually arrive within one to two weeks, longer for the furthest addresses.

No AI

Every work here was painted by hand, in oil, watercolour, gouache or ink. None of it is generated, and none of it ever will be. The longer version is here.

Who you buy from

We are two people. ofnatureandart.com is operated by Great Land of Gems! LLC in Tucson, Arizona, which takes payment for prints; original paintings and the studio sit with Great Land of Gems! LLP in Singapore. Both addresses, and the one email that reaches us, are on the contact page.
